How to Set Up the Bell Tents?

1.Unpack and Unfold Bell Tent

Arrange the tent entrance so that it is facing the direction that you had envisioned (hopefully with a good view).

2. Peg the Groundsheet Floor 

Grab the small metal pegs and your hammer.  Start by securing 3 pegs beneath the door into the metal grommets at a 45˚ angle. 

3. Set up the Center Pole

Assemble the center pole while outside of the tent.  Be sure that the pole has rubber or plastic caps on both ends to avoid ripping the canvas or the tent floor.

4. Set up the Door Pole

 Place the metal “spike” at the top of the A-frame pole through the matching grommet hole in the canvas above the door.  

5. Stake the Guy Line Ropes

Grab the large metal stakes.  Start with the rope above the front door and stake at a 45˚ angle.  The guy line ropes should extend straight out and off the tent seams

How to Clean the Bell Tents?

Step by step method:

1. Clean the tent from all the dirt, debris and dust with the help of a soft broom or brush. Separate the floor and the canopy.

2. Except for the floor of the tent, soak the rest of the tent parts in the cleaning solution.

3. Fill it with more water until the cotton canvas tent is soaked properly. Soak the tent for 4 – 10 hours and stir it in intervals. You can soak it and leave it overnight, as well.

4. Take out the tent from the solution and place it on a clean and dry floor.  Brush, sweep and rinse the tent, the way you would your floors.

5. Rinse off the tent and tightly roll it up to get the cotton squeezed so as to remove the residue. Check whether it needs another round of soaking or not.

6. If the cotton canvas seems reasonably tidy, soak it in just water to remove any residual soap.

7. Pull the canvas over the cleaned up tent floor and then pitch it.

8. Dry well in the sun and put away

How to Remove the Mold?

Dealing with Mild Cases of Mold and Mildew

1. Use simple vinegar solution. Simply spray the mold and mildew directly with distilled white vinegar and let it sit for a while.

 

2.Scrubbing tent with lemon, salt, and hot water.Soap and other detergents can harm the fabric and leave deposits.For this reason, vinegar or lemon solutions are preferred ways to clean the cotton canvas.

1. Use commercial Mold & Mildew Stain Remover,which not only cleans mold and mildew, but is also suitable for removing other organic stains caused by dirt, bird droppings or leaves.

2. Another option is this Boat Bling Green Sauce Enzyme-Based Mold and Mildew Stain Remover and Treatment.This cleaner is made from a plant-based, biodegradable formula, which doesn’t adversely affect the environment.Not only it it strong enough to break-down and fight built-up mold and mildew, but it also prevents it from forming again.

What are the Differences Between Cotton and Oxford Tents Fabric?

Canvas is a thick and thick fabric woven with multiple strands of warp and weft yarns. DANCHEL 2023 B5 cotton canvas made of 330GSM (9.7oz/yd²) thick unbleached breathable cotton canvas for durability. To maintain an odorless yurt tent, the tents do not have PU coating. So when camping in heavy rain, we recommend ordering a rain fly tarp to reinforce waterproofing.

300D/900D oxford with silver coated layer is not easy to deform. It is durable and has good waterproof effect. It is easy to clean and care as well. If you are camping in a place that often rains and humid, we recommend you buy an oxford tent.

Do I Need to 'Seasoned' DANCHEL Canvas Bell Tent before Using?

  • Receiving your canvas bell tent we recommend doing a test run to make sure everything is there and functioning properly and, as with all canvas tents, this is when the tent should be ‘seasoned’ (saturated with water). This will ensure your tent is completely watertight in heavy downpours.
  • Following the pitching instructions that arrive with your bell tent and hosing the tent down and soaking the canvas will allow the waterproofing agent to soak into the canvas properly and the fibres of the canvas to expand, sealing the tent completely.
  • If you think it is hard to season bell tent, use the rain fly with your bell tent also a good way to reduce the leaking.

    Does the B 5 come pre seasoned or is that recommended before first use. I do have the rainfly which I was thinking of pre seasoning and spraying with waterproffing spray.
